Advancing Social Work Practice with Clients: Understanding the DSM-5
Friday December 6, 2013
1255 Amsterdam Avenue
Between West 121st Street and West 122nd Street
New York, New York 10027
This conference was made possible through the CSSW Hyman and Sophie Grossbard Clinical Lecture Program
Join the Advanced Clinical Practice area of the Columbia School of Social Work for a day-long conference centered around the introduction of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual 5. This is an exciting opportunity for the CSSW community to come together to discuss the recent changes within the DSM-5. The focus will not only be on the substantive changes, but also on developing critical perspectives on the implications for social work practice.
We are looking forward to delving into the development of the DSM, the significant additions and changes to the DSM-5, and the differentiation between client situations diagnosed with the DSM-IV and the DSM-5.
In special recognition of the important contribution CSSW community members make to our learning environment, we are pleased to offer this conference free of charge. A light breakfast and a lunch will be provided for all conference attendees.
Registration is now full! Priority was given to CSSW field instructors, advisors, instructors, and alumni. All registered attendees have now been contacted. Please be sure to bring your Eventbrite registration ticket to the registration desk on the day of the conference. If participant spaces are opened, we will contact individuals in order on the wait list.
